The neighborhood SoHo is south of Houston Avenue, hence its name. Indeed, So means South while Ho means Houston. Neighborhood nearly disappeared in the 1960s, he knew how to take revenge since it is now very popular with New Yorkers.

Presentation

In the nineteenth century, the district of SoHo is largely industrial. The workers, who work in deplorable conditions, are gradually leaving this gray and sad place. Almost completely abandoned in the 1960s, real estate developers imagine large lofts in abandoned buildings.

The success was almost immediate as we witnessed the installation of many artists in this neighborhood. Indeed, the open spaces allowed them to express themselves more while the rents were much lower than in the rest of Manhattan, which is due to the use of iron and not the stone which is more expensive.
